SERENDAH, 16 September 2026 - Sempena Hari Malaysia, Asrama Kasih Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) telah melaksanakan Program Santuni Kasih Kemerdekaan Dua Generasi bersama Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (PAWE) Hulu Selangor dan Pejabat Kebajikan Masyarakat Daerah Hulu Selangor.

Pelbagai aktiviti telah dilaksanakan pada sebelah pagi antaranya acara senam sihat, aktiviti 'treasure hunt' serta perarakan kemerdekaan oleh pelajar Asrama Kasih YBK, sebelum acara dilanjutkan di dalam dewan dengan ucapan daripada tetamu kehormat, penyampaian hadiah dan nyanyian lagu-lagu patriotik.

Pengerusi YBK, YBhg. Dato' Haji Zainal Abidin Sakom dalam ucapannya memuji pelaksanaan program ini di mana ia telah menjadi 'platform' antara generasi warga emas dan belia untuk melaksanakan aktiviti bersama. Kebersamaan dua generasi ini adalah satu keunikan kerana mereka boleh saling belajar dan memupuk sikap saling menghormati.

Turut hadir, YBhg. Datin Dr. Hajah Hartini Osman (Pengerusi Asrama Kasih YBK), Encik Shamsul Akhyar Abdullah (Pengerusi PAWE Hulu Selangor), Tuan Chinniah a/l Subramaniam (Ahli Majlis Zon 13 Majlis Perbandaran Hulu Selangor), Dr. Abdul Fatah Hj Khalid dan En. Zainal Mohd Jais (ALPA YBK) En. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz, dan wakil serta pegawai daripada Pejabat Kebajikan Daerah Hulu Selangor, Pejabat Belia dan Sukan Hulu Selangor, Jabatan Penerangan Hulu Selangor, Kelab Belia Jatidiri Serendah dan YBK.

Dalam majlis ini juga, telah dilaksanakan pelancaran Bakeri Asrama Kasih YBK dan pengenalan produk pertamanya iaitu Roti Benggali.

SANTUNI KASIH KEMERDEKAAN: BRIDGING TWO GENERATIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH MALAYSIA DAY

SERENDAH, 16 September 2026 – In conjunction with Malaysia Day, Asrama Kasih Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (YBK) organized the Santuni Kasih Kemerdekaan Dua Generasi programme in collaboration with the Hulu Selangor Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PAWE) and the Hulu Selangor District Social Welfare Office.

A variety of activities were held in the morning, including a wellness exercise session, a treasure hunt, and a Merdeka parade involving students from Asrama Kasih YBK. The programme continued inside the hall with speeches by the guests of honour, a prize-giving ceremony, and the singing of patriotic songs.

In his speech, YBK Chairman YBhg. Dato' Haji Zainal Abidin Sakom commended the implementation of the programme, describing it as a platform that brings together senior citizens and young people to participate in activities together. The interaction between the two generations is a unique aspect of the programme, providing opportunities for them to learn from one another and foster mutual respect.

Also in attendance were YBhg. Datin Dr (h.c) Hartini Osman, Chairperson of Asrama Kasih YBK; Mr. Shamsul Akhyar Abdullah, Chairperson of PAWE Hulu Selangor; Mr. Chinniah a/l Subramaniam, Councillor for Zone 13 of the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council; Dr. Fatah Abdul Khalid and Mr. Zainal Mohd Jais, YBK Board of Trustees members; Mr. Muhammad Sherhan Nizam Abdul Aziz, General Manager of YBK; as well as representatives and officers from the Hulu Selangor District Social Welfare Office, Hulu Selangor Youth and Sports Office, Hulu Selangor Information Department, Kelab Belia Jatidiri Serendah, and YBK.

The event also marked the launch of the Asrama Kasih YBK Bakery, together with the introduction of its first product, Roti Benggali.
