YBhg. Tan Sri Muhammad bin Muhd Taib

Founder

Y.BHG. Tan Sri Muhammad bin Muhd. Taib, former minister in Ministry of Rural and Regional Development was born in Kg. Sungai Manggis, Kuala Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor. He graduated from University of Malaya and Had served as a teacher in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kuala Kubu Baru.

Tan Sri Muhammad bin Muhd. Taib was a former Batang Kali member of the State Legislative Assembly (1982,1986,1990 and 1995). Tan Sri Muhammad served as Selangor Menteri Besar (1986-1997). Tan Sri Muhammad bin Muhd. Taib was instrumental in setting up the foundation through personal funding amounting to RM 10,000.00 to start Selangor's Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan back in 1990.

YBhg. Dato' Hj. Zainal Abidin bin Hj. Sakom

Chairman (1990)

Dato' Zainal Abidin was born on 14th August 1950 in Kg. Gesir Tengah, Hulu Selangor. He was Hulu Bernam and Batang Kali member of State Legislative Assembly. Dato' Zainal was chairman of YBK since its establishment. He was Deputy Chairman for the Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) from 2003-2008.

YB Dato' Zainal graduated from Kolej Islam Klang, Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris Tanjung Malim (UPSI), Universiti Islam Sumatera Utara and University St. John, Jakarta (Master In Management Science). He served as a principal (1969-1986) and political secretary to Selangor Menteri Besar (1986-1997). Currently he actively delivers religious, social and political talks to government and private agencies, and political parties as well.

Hj. Bing Selamat bin Amir

2002 - Present

Haji Bing was the former Assistant General Manager of YBK. He was appointed as one of the Board Members of Trustee since January 2, 2002. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Haji Bing used to work as a teacher and an officer in Education Department. Throughout his tenure in YBK, he was responsible in planning, developing, and executing Asrama Kasih, KUNTUM, YBK Training Centre Kuala Selangor, FASTRACK, Desa Kasih Students Excellence Centre, YBK Training Program with Cambodian students. Mutual understanding and cooperation with IPTS (MFI,GMI,BMI) and the establishment of YBK Community College, ITK, YBK Banting, Kajang and Lembah Bernam.

Professor Emeritus Dato' Dr. Sulaiman Md Yassin

1995 - Present

Dato' Sulaiman Md. Yassin graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science from University Malaya. Dato' Sulaiman completed his Masters in Communication Arts (1974) and attained a Phd in Extension Education and Communication from Cornell University. He started his career as a lecturer in 1972 and was inaugurated with Associate Professor in 1981, Professor in 1986 and Professor Emeritus in 2010. Dato' Sulaiman Md. Yassin was formerly Dean at Universiti Putra Malaysia Terengganu, Deputy Rector at KUSTEM Terengganu and Vice Chancellor of University Malaysia Terengganu. Currently, Professor Emeritus Dato' Sulaiman is a Head Research Fellow at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Datin Hjh. Hartini Osman

2004 - 2013

Datin Hartini graduated from Cavendish of London with Business Study And Marketing Communication. Prior to her appointment as a Board Member of Trustees, Datin Hartini has been regularly involved in the planning and execution of YBK's programs. She is also the Advisor to Asrama Kasih in Serendah. Apart from involving herself in charity work, Datin Hartini is also a successful businesswoman. Datin Hartini often chairs special YBK events such as YBK Dinner Events and YBK Volunteer Team. She's also an Advisor in YBK investment matters i.e. YBK Investment Sdn. Bhd. Datin Hartini was also YBK's Advisor from 2000-2004.

Dato' Dr. Mat Yasir Ikhsan

2002 - 2013

Dato' Dr. Yasir was a parliamentary member of Sabak Bernam, a member of State Legislative Assembly of Sg. Air Tawar in Sabak Bernam (2000-2004). Dato' Dr. Mat Yasir served in the Selangor Education Department (1989-94) and Yayasan Selangor (1994-2000). He is also the President of the Selangor Malay Students Union, a member of MBS and former Secretary General of Coalition of Peninsular Malay Students. Dato' Yasir graduated from University Malaya with B.A (Hons) and M.Ed and from University of Berkeley South Carolina USA (phD (Soc).
