YBK FASTRACK is an Educational & Training Program in cooperation from the state government of Selangor. This program is intended to offer opportunities and to train youngsters to undergo training skills to meet the demands of industrial manufacturing growth sector in Selangor. This FASTRACK program also provides a second chance for the teenagers who failed to obtain good results in SPM and failed to further studies to any public or private higher learning institutions. YBK spent an amount of RM579,234.00 to provide aid to 401 trainees out of 730 trainees. All the study fees of 730 trainees are sponsored and paid directly by the government of Selangor to private institutions such as INPENS College, WIT, FIT, ITTAR, EDI, Stamford and Selangor Human Resources Development Centre (SHRDC).
The FASTRACK program that is executed in 1995 has indeed given second chance to the students who did not perform well in their SPM but still have the desire to progress further in life. The courses offered are professional courses such as Secretarial, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Management, Hotel Management and Tourism, Computer and Office Management and Information Technology. The technical courses available are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Architectural Draftsman and Mechanical Draftsman.
The courses above are conducted for the period of 18 months and offered to SPM leavers (Grade 3, 4, SAP 8 and 9) from among Selangor born students aged between 18 to 24 years old. YBK Fastrack Program were conducted throughout 1995-98 whereby it has helped 681 students to gain skills and certificates.
1995/96: 583 students with Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (Malaysia Skills Certificate).
1997/98: 22 students with Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia and 218 students with Diplomas.
1998: 125 students with Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia.
