This scheme (PLP SPKR) received financial allotment from the State Development Office. To date, YBK had received an allotment of RM571,842 (2003) to train 95 trainees and RM100,000 (2005) to fund the training costs for 20 trainees.
PLP SPKR 2003
YBK has funded the training costs for 95 trainees from all over Selangor. They have underwent training programs in YBK's Community College from August 2003 till Jan 2004. They were placed in KUNTUM Dinamik Institute, IKD (20 people), YBK Institute of Technology, ITMY (18 people), Mutiara Engineering Academy (47 people) and Community Institute of Technology, ITK-YBK (10 people). The courses offered were Computer System Assistant Technician, Women's Apparel Maker, Information Technology Admin. Assistant and Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
As a result of this program, 51 former trainees (54%) were employed in the labour market, a number of 35 trainees (37%) are still seeking for jobs and 6 of them (11%) are furthering their studies to Level 2 in the YBK Training Centre. A survey done revealed that out of 51 working former trainees, 48 people (94%) were employed, whereas 3 other trainees (6%) were self-employed. 47 people (92%) out of the 51 people employed worked full time, whereas 4 people (8%) worked part time.
A number of 10 people, i.e. 19.6% of former trainees of PLP SPKR received incomes of RM 500 and below per month. 58.8 %, i.e. as many as 30 people received income ranging from RM 501- RM 750 per month and 2 others received income of RM 1,001 and above (they were former trainees of YBK Mutiara Engineering Academy in Motor Vehicle Mechanics Courses Level I and II. They were also former students of YBK Mutiara Engineering Academy (YBK Training Centre).
PLP SPKR 2005
YBK had trained 20 people throughout July-Dec 2005. Those selected would be placed in YBK training institutes, namely KUNTUM Dynamic Institute, IKD (2 people), Kuala Selangor Mutiara Engineering Academy (12 people) and Banting Community Institute Of Technology (6 people). The courses offered are Computer System Assistant Technician, Women's Apparel Maker, Information System Administrative Assistant and Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
